What a year we've had. Every hunter has killed an older buck. Five hunters, five bucks. Three 2 1/2 year-old 8-pointers, one 3 1/2 year-old 8-point. One 3 1/2 year-old 10-point.

My daughter's from Sunday morning:

Congrats to you all and specifically your daughter. What is up with her buck's front right leg? Limping?
Good eye Andy S! His right front "knee" (it's actually equivalent to our wrist) had been badly damaged and had healed as a solid knot of bone. We didn't see a limp or notice the old injury until after she had killed him.

Good to see the next generation getting involved. Congrats!
Sadly, out of the 14 grandkids (my daughter and all her cousins) and their spouses, only two are seriously interested in deer hunting: my daughter and one of my oldest brother's daughters. The rest enjoy the cabin and hunting camp but have no interest in hunting.
