Fuel Leak

My son has a Polaris 90 and I went to start it the other week and it was bone dry so I just assumed it had been run to empty the last time. Put more gas in and fired it up just to run it. Well today I went to start it again and it wouldn't crank so I opened the gas cap and it was dry. Looked into the barn where it was and the gravel was soaked where the gas had leaked out. Where could my problem be? Keep it simple as I'm no mechanic. :cry:

Check your gas lines first.

Is there a drain line that comes out of the carb that just hangs down, not connected to anything? If so, the carb float valve could be stuck and the gas is pouring out of that line.
If that's the case, run some SeaFoam (available at walmart, autozone, etc.) through it. It should un-stick it.
If that doesn't work, you might need to get a carb rebuild kit and rebuild the carb. It's super easy to do, you don't have to be mechanically inclined. The instructions are on the internet or you might find a vid on YouTube on how to do it.

I had the same thing happen this past week. Was smelling gas when I would park my atv, but I could not see any on the floor pan. Took seat off and found my line from the tank to the carb. was dry rotted and broke. Replaced it and now good to go.

I had that problem in the field. The inline filter I was using decided to come apart and was dripping fuel down through the frame.

I checked the lines and couldn't tell that they were leaking so I dropped it off at the shop today to see what's going on. Thanks for the replies.

Carb was the culprit. It had some trash in it causing it to stick and the fuel leaking. Hopefully its fixed now.

Mine was doing that... I just started cutting off the gas at the tank... It did it two years. I guess it passed the clot cause I forgot to shut off the gas two weeks ago and it wasnt leaking...
