Me and a buddy were hunting on Ft Campbell this morning and after 2 sets we were moving down a road that divides the impact area and the training area when we caught movement about 140 yrds away.
We decided to get to the side of the road and turn on the caller. Once we got set up with each of us on both sides of the road I noticed there were a pair coming in on a string. I motioned to my buddy that there were 2 coming but he thought I meant they were moving off the right side where he was. He was set up facing way right thinking they were moving through the woodline. Unfortuantely they were on the road coming in right in front of me. I was thinking we were going to score a double but only 1 fell. I thought omg how close should I let them get before we shoot. Well once she stopped at about 75 yrds I had to shoot before she got nervous b/c she acted like she saw me.
A Single round from my .17 and she dropped in her tracks. Too bad the other one took off before we could get another shot. He, I think it was male, went back to where we first saw them. We called to him again to see if he would stop but he just walked away in a slow trot. It was my 1st coyote to come in and 1st kill!!

When did they open the fort to hunt coyote with rimfire weapons?

It's always been open to hunt small game with rimfire weapons. Coyote used to be open year round but last season they changed it to only open while there is another hunting season open on post.

That's what I thought. It's only rimfire though right? And BTW, nice yote!
