Area 44a
17HMR
20gr Hornady
30 yrd shot
11 lb female

My buddy and I headed to 44A this morning. On our 1st set this female came in after about 8-10 mins, adult cottontail and some coyote challenge and yips sounds then back to adult cottontail.
I hear my buddy woof woof, bang! I looked up and he said did you see him? I said no, where and what? Bobcat and it ran this way...
So we had to track her down and didn't find too much blood. A few drops and 1 larger area about the size of a grapefruit with blood before she crossed a log. I went up past that and found more blood by a pine tree. My buddy was on his hands and knees looking and I went above that to look for more and I heard the cat mewwwrrrrrr...( only way to describe it..) We saw her still kicking so he put 2 more in her but it was through a thicket. He grabbed my shotgun just in case but she was done.

nice cat! are you sure it was a female? the reason i ask is i didn't know the balls don't drop on a cat until my taxidermist showed me on the one i killed a few years ago.

Thanks, I'm not sure actually, I asked him and I didnt even look. I didn't know they didn't drop.

Nice looking cat! Kinda hard to tell from pic but looks like it has alot of spot. The ones I get are usually more solid color.
Thats also not true about the balls, I've seen many with them dropped.

It was a small cat from what I expected,11 lbs I haven't ever seen one much less had the chance at taking one.

that's what i thought at first. figured my taxi knew more about it than i did. guess not!

I don't expect they are to much different than your standard house cat. With that being said, I have 2 tomcats that weigh 15lbs. and 17lbs., and both of them have balls that have dropped. So sorry to say but yes, cats balls DO drop! Not to mention, google says they do also..

Good lookin cat JDP.
