I had one package of my homemade Andouille sausage left. Here's where we ended up. I threw in a couple of Ballpark beef hotdogs for my dad. He supervised. The batter wasn't measured. AP flour, corn meal, an egg, beer, paprika, salt, and some hot sauce.
I poured that batter into a drinking glass and dunked the sausage. Then they went into the cast iron and some 375 degree peanut oil. They browned up quickly.
They only took about 4 minutes to brown up to my liking.
Andouille Corndogs are excellent.
