If you were like me the fruit trees had me worried about some of the frosts after they budded out. Last week I had very small peaches growing from my peach trees. The frost may have got some of them but I did have a few that appeared to be o.k. This weekend I will check and make sure. Pear leaves looked a little wilted.

I hope they look better for you rich. How does that fruit cocktail tree look?

I will be going to our place this weekend to plant our garden. I havent been there in 2 weeks, so I have been dying to see how our fruit trees are doing.

We got down in the 20's right after my plum tree bloomed out and all the blooms turned brown and fell off within a few days so I assumed we wouldn't get any plums this year. I looked a couple of days ago though and it's covered in little green plums so I guess it's tougher than I thought. All the other fruit trees bloomed after our last hard freeze.

Last weekend it looked great. I will try to take pics this weekend. It was full of blooms and appeared to be very healthy. I put a cage around it, the perfect weekend before the buds bloomed. Deer looked like they were circling the cages wanting to get in.

If I could figure out how to post pics on here, I could take some pics of our fruit cocktail tree this weekend, so you can see what one looks like after 7 or 8 years (somewhere around there??) if you want me to.

I need to expand our fences around ours. In past years, they pull the fruit right off the trees around the edges. We are also making a garden this weekend, which we are gonna see if we can high fence (if it is possible). If not, hope they dont get to all of it before we do :)

I would like to see how big they get. A pic would be great. I plan to fence my whole "tree plot" next year. I will put two gates, one coming in and one going out. Of course along the logging road where I can easily get them....after I shoot them. Ha!

Rich, I forgot my camera, so theres no pic of that fruit cocktail tree. And it really made me mad because...first off, I had a fishin tournament on friday (with no pics) and then we went straight to our place and made a garden. (I always take pics as things like that progresses...gardens, food plots, fruit trees, etc..)

Anyways, all of our fruit trees had little fruit coming out! The fruit cocktail tree actually had ALOT of fruit coming out on it!...More than I have ever seen before. I'll try and get a pic on here sooner or later.

JC, always next time.

My trees look good the only ones that looked bothered was the pears like Steven said. I have a few peaches growing and it looks like some apples. My Japanese Persimmons are blooming out and I can't wait to see them in a few years. I need to finish my cages for the Arkansa apples, J.persimmons, dolgo crab apples and one other that slips my mind. I must be getting lazy. Ha!
