I know that fall thru spring is the best time to put fruit trees in the ground, so I'm wondering what I should try to get while I am home next month. I hear a lot about Arkansas Black apples, crabapples, pears, and persimmons. What varieties are favored by deer and have a later dropping dates?

Well theres a ton. Ark Black, Hardy Cumberland, Wolf River, Goldrush, Liberty, Enterprise, Freedom, Florina Querina, Stayman Winesap would be some of my favorite apples off the top of my head. Kieffer would be my number one late season pear but theres more out there that I dont have for late season. Crabs, transcedent, dolgo, brandywine, calloway would be favorites. Sorry dont have alot of time or I would say more.

Go with the most disease resistant you can get. apples I like Goldrush, Liberty, Enterprise, Freedom. Crabs I like Dolgo and Chestnut. Pear I like Magness and Moonglow
