He has a place that is bordered on 3 sides by lock 5,he is surrounded by food for deer.His place is mostly a big feild on the side of the Cumberland.Excellent dirt.He has thought of doing it in CRP and let it be a bedding area.Any thoughts?

Last year he planted some oats,deer didnt eat em much,but with so much food around,corn,beans,heavy acorns,its like putting a cheeseburger on a buffet line,just a drop in the bucket.

It should be obvious if there is all that food around and he planted food plots before then cover seems like the better choice.Thats all i said sorry you thought it was smart a..how would you like me to phrase things from now on so I don't offend you?

TS13 thought it was agood question,deserving some thought,guess not everyone is smart as you.Could be CRP,plant pines,grow corn and leave it,but,like you say,its obvious what to do.

I dont get offended,just aggravated,this is for fun to me.

I would do crp and apple trees. I dont care how much good beans and corn are around if you have late dropping apples and cover you''ll have the mature bucks.
