Yep , when I was a kid the only parts of the fish I got was the eggs and the crunchy fried tail.

When I was a kid we ate fried fish eggs and loved them. After I grew up I tried them again. I didn't like them.

Kinda like squirrel brains. When I was kid I absolutely loved them and now I eat the jaw muscle and other head muscles but I can't make myself touch the brain.

Tried em. Nope.
I may have ate them but dont remember for sure, pretty sure they mixed them with eggs and they fried as you would for scrambled eggs,may be why I quit eating fish til I was in my 20's now that I think about it :roll: :tu:

Yes sir!!! Eat all of them I find when cleaning my fish. Crappie eggs are my favorite. I also eat bass and bluegill eggs. Been eating them since I was a small child. My papaw didn't waste much of anything he caught or killed. I like the way he thought. Side note: Gar eggs are poisonous to mammals according to several sources I have read.

They are good, smallmouth eggs taste like crab meat, but I tried some from some large channel cats about 8-10 pounds and the eggs were chewy, not very good. Bream or crappie would be delicious I'm sure. Roll the whole egg sac in cornmeal breading and fry, it's good.
