Friday Rockfish

Headed out Friday afternoon to my favorite summertime rockfish waters with one of my best friends. The water and conditions were perfect. We saw a lot of fish and I managed to hookup on two of the three that hit me. The first one was a solid little 14 lber. The second fish was definitely a quality fish. Not my biggest by a long shot but a very good one at 26 lbs. After a good fight and a quick photo the fish was released to hopefully grow and be caught again another day. Love fighting those big fish.

I have fished for them twice below Pickwick.
Hardest fighting fish I have ever seen.
They were literally DEAD by the time I got them to the boat.
The ones we released it took forever to revive them.

I would LOVE to fish for them the way you do.

We were pulling Mann's 30+ crankbaits with the big motor.
Heck of a fight but BORING as crap.

Pickwick is the only place I have fished for them and a 14 pounder is considered a good one, I've never even caught one over 20

Awesome fish! I might get out Saturday afternoon to sunset for them. I haven't been to that river in a few weeks and I miss it already.

Nothing like the Caney in the summer. Been hearing they are hammering them there.
