I think I only used one for bait once and remember bream hitting it. But other than that, I dont know how well they work. Heard big cats like them. Anyone used them with success? I used to look for them in the harpeth river but now whenever I see one I let it go because I have no use for them.

Yeah, be careful which ones you keep!

You should chop up some of those big carp you catch and you will have plenty of bait.
I would have too much bait lol. But I have thought about it. If I shoot some buffalo I may give it a try.
 
Those shell buying places in Benton County give it away.Like said eariler,some are endangered.The legal ones have a size restriction but must have a mussell Liscense.
