Fresh Cut Corn Fields

So a corn field I was thinking of hunting this weekend was just cut sometime this week. I was there last week and saw a couple does but the corn was still standing.
My question is: does the fact they just cut this week mess up the deer? should I focus on other fields that weren't cut yet?

Just the opposite, hunt the cut corn. I had a friend that killed the fire out of deer in Sep/Oct every year, and his main strategy was to "follow the combine". He mainly hunted cut corn fields in the evening, and mainly fields that had been cut within the last 3-7 days, when possible.

Hunt it NOW. Even the most efficient combines will leave waste grain and the first days after harvest when it's sitting right on top of the residue makes for easy pickings.

The best times to hunt the edges of cornfields are the day that the combine is running and then the next few days after picking, in my opinion...

Same here mb. Around my house, I am seeing 5-10 deer in cut corn fields 2 hours before dark.

I've had this happen to me on public land before. Combine shut down, farmer left, and deer came out.

Alright, thanks for all the info guys, really appreciated helping out a novice deer hunter! unfortunately I wont be giving out the area. I had a guy walk up on me there last weekend, walked right down the edge of the field my truck was parked next to and then told me he just wanted to hunt the far corner and something about him hunting that area for 10 years. then proceeded to spook a deer as he walked around.....
ive been walked in on or parked next to every weekend on the fort, I guess its just what you have to deal with but I mean when someone sees me in the corner of a field then continues to stand in the field for 30 min it gets to a ya.....I think it especially gets to me this year as I am PCSing in January, so all these other guys can hunt the hell out of it next year for all I care but who knows when ill get to come back...

Hardin county. Andy I've been trying to help my wife kill her first with her bow and she's hunting a corn field that will have been cut 2 weeks this Saturday. She's seeing double digits most sits.

Matter of fact I just came in the house from the shop. I'm trying to build a hay bale blind for us to use on the juvenile hunt there. thats where my girl will prolly hunt on the juvi. I don't know who combined it. But man they spilled a lot.

Lol don't mean to laugh at your question but "mess up" the deer isn't how I would put it... It brings them out of the cracks cause they all want that fresh corn all over the ground!

This is like someone asking "I've got a woman at my house right now in my bedroom changing clothes and asking me if I could help her get her top off, what should I do?" Lol

Like many have said it will be good, the deer have been there all along likely living in the standing corn, just now they have to travel in and out to feed exposing themselves in the process. Deer will barely move out of the way of the Combine while picking, let alone be spooked by it.
