Free garden space near Jackson

I know this is a long shot, but...

Some older folks own an empty lot across from my place, I'm guessing approximately 100' square with fence on two sides. It's not really a lot since it's too small to build on here, but more of an access to their property they kept when this street was built. They've always had their garden there, but are now unable to tend one. The man asked me today if I wanted to put a garden there so he would not have to mow it.

I've already got a decent size garden and lots more space if needed and barely enough time to keep mine up, so had to decline. He said if I heard of anyone interested, they would be welcome to use it so he wouldn't have to mow it.

It would be a great opportunity for someone living in an apartment or on a small lot who wants a garden but doesn't have the space.

If no one takes them up on it, I will just mow it for them when I mow mine.

Wow, great opportunity.
Wish it were easier to find folks who would commit to maintaining such a garden. Could be a great asset for folks who are short on cash but in need of feeding a family.

I wish I had that available to me. What about planting some low maintenance stuff, instead? Perhaps some turnips, some sort of lettuce mix, watermelon, okra, and zucchini?

Man, if I had some free space, who knows what kind of seeds I'd throw out there.

Andrew, you do have garden space available to you at Shelby Farms. They will let you have a 50x100 plot for free
