Free and Clear type laundry detergents?

Anyone use them for hunting laundry? I saw All laundry detergent that was "free and clear" of perfumes and dyes. I assume that this is scentless and won't make my hunting clothes stand out scent wise to a deer?

I've always used scent killer or scent away laundry detergent...wouldn't the free and clear detergents work just as well?
 
That is what I use, along with baking soda. I use about .5 of the amount that the detergent bottle calls for, then I put in some baking soda on top of that.
 
I've been using Arm and Hammer perfume/dye free for years. It is not expensive, at all... Any detergent that is perfume and dye free will work fine. Note that there is a big difference between "unscented" and perfume free... and I also will add additional baking sofa in as well....

LOL, I thought I was the only one using it [free and clear] been using it for three years and it works great for me.

This is what I do. Works very well and come way out ahead in the wallet.

It's all that is brought into this house for all laundry Add some baking soda and add some extra soak time. Think about it if you're using scent free and your wife is using something sweet and smelly.There has got to be some sweet and smelly scent left.I break out in a rash with anything except clear and free seriously just ask my wife. :) :) :) :) :)
 
If you just stop and think about it, you can pay a lot for boutique hunting laundry detergent to "totally" eliminate scent, but even if it is any better you still have chemical odors from municipal water supplies. I think that people just way overdo some things...
 
Its not just the scent that is an issue. It is UV brighteners in most laundry detergent. Deer see in a different UV spectrum from us, not pure black and white as is commonly thought. The UV brighteners will make your camo glow to them. So just make sure it is free of those and you are good to go. I hear the All is brightener free, but you may want to double check.
 
We wash all our clothes in a homemade recipe of A&H washing powder, Fels Naptha, and Borax. Wife makes one batch that lasts all year pretty cheap. I reckon it works good my clothes are always clean and i don't smell like a mountain bouquet. I don't figure those ingredients have UV enhancers either.
 
I use it because I'm allergic to the scents in others, but I do chuckle every time my buddies by the scent killer detergent. Same ingredients minus silver and it has shown great on the ground hunting results for me.
 
Interesting. Good to know others use it. I've always paid $10 for the Scent Away stuff. I can buy the All free and clear detergent (or a similar brand) and pay less for more detergent...and accomplish the same task that the Scent Away does. Hard to beat that!
 
I can't determine whether those "free and clear" detergents have UV brighteners, so I still use SportWash like I have for the last 20 years. It's not quite as cheap as free & clear, but it's a heap less than all that scent dead zero away downwind silver killer carbon nonsense.
 
Just wash in plain water.
Air your clothes out or wash them immediately after use.

Add Baking soda if you really need to for smell.
Easy and free (or really cheap if you're using Baking Soda.
