In an unfortunate sequence of events, power lines disrupted service, and killed numerous deer in Kansas.

This is an incredible sight to behold. Thanks to Kansas Wildlife, Parks & Tourism – Game Wardens, we get a good look at exactly what happened. Power lines fell to the ground, near Gaylord, Kansas. A half dozen or more deer happened to be feeding nearby, and walked right into the downed lines. The result? Electrocution. It's a dismal-looking scene!

imagine if it was a hunter?
I was actually hunting once where lighting hit a transformer very close to a power line I was hunting. Sparks came flying my direction and burned a hole in my clothes and darn near burned a hole in me. Worse part of it was the hearing damage I received from it. It was loud. I still have a ringing in my ears from it. To this day I will not hunt near a power line.

My best spot to hunt during the season by far, average seeing over 30 deer every single sit, I am about 40 yards from one of the poles that hold the lines.
