Just wondering if any of you have hunted franklin forest on the franklin county Marion County line and how you go about hunting it, parking etc.....

you can park and hunt anywhere within the forest. just like any public land, do your homework and leg work. most of the hunting pressure is on the top of the mountain.

Wow didn't even know that existed. it is about an hour and a half from Murfreesboro.

I see why most of the hunting is on top. A. most of the forest is on top of the mountain, and dropping off and carrying a deer out does not look appealing.

Correct, I also heard that place is very popular with recreational riders, atvs and such. Might not be that appealing if you have to contend with riders all over the place.

During Archery, depending on where you hunt, Priest is the same way except no ATVs, well at least not legally. The good news is an ATV may be key in gettign a deer out of one of those ravines.

If it were me, I'd try to find a place around those river/creek bottoms. Look for thick cover and maybe a pinch point where the terrain is steep on one side and the river/creek is on the other and could funnel the deer for you. Of course you will need to access where you could get an ATV into or take pack frame. :D
