my dad recently acquired a franchi semiauto 20 ga that belonged to his mother. i could not find a model number on it. the gun is at least 50 years old. any tips on where to get some info on it?

Light as a feather.....good guns. "old school bird guns". I know a lot of older guys that used to quail hunt a lot. If yours is what I think it is, they were the "go to" gun back in the day. Super light and fast handling.

And forgot to add, MUCH BETTER guns than today's franchi's! Only thing the same is the name!

is it the one the barrel slides back in the action when you shoot it??

i have no idea.

Open chamber, put butt of gun on the floor and put your hand over the barrel and press. Barrel should press down into the chamber.
