buy one from MFK calls, and he will preload some really good vocalizations on it.

this is a total generalization for a blind set... start with prey distress fairly quiet (12-14 on volume), work up to 18-20. After 5-10 minutes, switch to a single howl around volume 24, then either pair howl or coyote fight. If nothing comes by 18minutes, time to move.

when you KNOW you are close to a dog (you have already located one and moved in fairly tight), I usually just start with a female howl or pups in distress.

I'm by no means an expert, but that's what I've found to work most consistently

Helps a lot thx, i got the X24 like you recommended

I see a coyote on one of my cameras about every 3 to 5 days. What would you recommend a start with that one?

first or last light.

start with cottontail distress set on volume 12-14, gradually increase up to around 16.

if nothing in 5 minutes, switch to a female howl volume 20, then wait another couple minutes.

still nothing, throw in a challenge howl.

still nothing, get aggressive with coyote fights, up volume to 24.

That sequence seems to work well for me, but I have a lot more dogs answer back to the howls but refuse to commit and actually come to the set. Most are too far away, but I have 1 dog that is driving me crazy. He will howl back nonstop for 45 minutes while coming to the edge of the thicket he lives in, but simply won't come out into the open to get shot. He has done this 3 times over the past 6 weeks.
