Fox Beagles

I was just wandering if anyone knows of a fox lot that just has foxes not yotes. My beagles wont hardly run yotes. I like to find a lot that has beagle field trials. Speed and Drive. I know why not run rabbits but they wont run long with my beagles behind them before they find a hole.

get you some slow begals like i have,they start running 1 rabbit & when they finaly bring it by me its grandbaby has replaced it :) , i seen on tv awhile back & it might have been on the heartland series of a fox lot,im thinking it was up your way,mike243

Beat me to it mike! Mikes right,sounds like your beagles are to fast to be rabbit dogs.That is the first thing a rabbit will do if its being ran to fast,straight to a hole.

i personaly preffer faster dogs but my 2 were dads & he loved them,i will keep them till they pass,mike243

When I had dogs, all I had were fast dogs (big pack type field trial dogs). If he went bout 2 circles he had better be huntin a hole on the third or they were on him. Never had much use for the "walkie-talkies". They give the rabbit too much time to think. I had a hard enough time breakin my dogs off deer so I would never put them on anything other than a rabbit. Dog that will run a fox, will run a deer and thats fine if your in a dogging state but it just usually ruins a good rabbit hunt.

I've never seen pure beagles that were "to fast".

I've seen more than my share that would catch rabbits on a full run. Can't get much faster than that. Friend of mine had a female once that caught 80 at last count. Several were swampers.

Sounds like you got a bunch of coyotes in your area. Every time I get in a small area with lots of yotes, the rabbits go to hole pretty quick. Usually can move 1/4 mile and do just fine.

I used to know of a couple of fox pens in Alabama but I'm pretty sure there are yotes in there also now.

We got a bunch of foxes on our place if you want to come run them. lol
