He was chasing does this morning.........until Luke killed him with the Remington 700 smokeless conversion muzzleloader! My son is 13, this was his very first year bow-hunting and he shot this buck on opening day of bow season, we found very little blood and never did find the arrow.......now I know why. Luke killed this buck this morning in Montgomery County about 300 yards down the field from where he had shot him with the bow. When we flipped this guy over to load him on the Rhino, our mouths fell open when we saw the arrow still in him, and realized it was the same deer. He didn't even have a noticable limp. The arrow hit all bone but buried the entire broadhead in the bone, I couldn't pull it out no matter how hard I tried, when we got to the processor he had to cut it out with snips and there was NO infection except the immediate wound area was nasty, all the meat is still good. Luke is thrilled to get closure on the one that got away. His first buck with a bow and his first buck with a muzzleloader are the same deer, lol.

Congrats! Glad he got a second chance at him. That should help with his confidence for next year's bow season.

What kind of stock is that and do you know what rifles they make them for. I been racking my brain to come up with a good solution for younger shooters without actually buying a youth gun or AR
And that is actually a pretty awesome story. Congrats

it is a Blackhawk/Axiom stock, make them for several models, adjustable like an AR and has recoil reducer built in too, perfect for the whole family. Also comes in camo. http://www.blackhawk.com/product/axiom- ... 0,1447.htm

Congratulations! For the life of me, I couldn't figure out where I had seen this photo recently. Then it occurred to me that Spook Spann had shared it on his Facebook page last night. I would definitely incorporate the arrow into the mount/antler display.
