I was looking for an article I wrote some years ago. I finally found it. It is an article about black powder hunting in TN. Maybe you will find this interesting. Keep in mind, it was written in 1991.

In 1982, the first year for mzl hunting in TN, a total of about 400 deer were killed statewide.

By 1986, that jumped to 10,099 mostly due to the two-either sex limit for the second segment.

But here is what I was looking for: Bobby Lenk at Bill Clay's Sporting Goods in Nashville said. "We use to sell about 40 guns a year. Now, we sell between $35-40,000 in guns a year." That is a 1991, figure. That gives you an idea of the economic impact of the mzl season on just one store.

I find it fascinating to go back and look through some of those articles I wrote in the 70's-80's-90's and see how things have grown and changed. I wrote an article for Bowhunter on Bobby Worthington when he killed his first big, IL buck,. Until then, nobody had even heard of him.

bowriter,
Can you post the article on Worthington on here? If not, can it be looked up someway?

Thanks

That is cool , I remember a time though the early 80's watching my dad get ready to go hunt , especially during m/l season . And wanting to here the story's when he got home . That's when I really began to love the sport ,lots of times while hunting like today , I reflect back on those memory's and almost wish the sport of hunting had not evolved so quickly . At least in the short span I am referring too. Early 80's to the present

Can't post it. It was written on a typewriter before computers were in every house. It was published in 1990 and I can't tell if it is in Bowhunter or Bow And Arrow Hunting Magazine. Title is, "A Special Place".
