Found a stand, left a note

In November one of my buddies on one of my leases told me he heard a 4 wheeler before daylight on the ridge and later heard a shot. I was hunting another farm that day and he didn't bother to check it out. Yesterday I went out there and found this stand still there and a 4 wheeler path was worn out so he has been there often. The stand had a name wrote on it and I knew of the guy so I called a buddy that knew him well. Get a call back fast and he said this guy doesn't even have a 4 wheeler and that stand was stolen from him a few years ago. Soon as I get a chance I am going to be hunting out there to see if this guy comes back after his stand which is no longer there. Saturday or Sunday could be interesting.

I did leave a note later that evening that said he was trespassing in case I don't see him in person.

i have it in the bed of my truck now. He will be mad when he goes to hunt from it and it is gone but I don't care about this piece of craps feelings.

Did that a few years back. Found a buddy stand about 30 yards over the line. No telling how long it had been there because i hardly ever walked that area. Left a note that the land was under new ownership and to remove the stand. Few months later it was gone and haven't had any problems since. Sometimes it's best to go the nice route first like you did. Last thing you want is a mad person destroying your property and ruining your hunts. Hope you get it resolved.

Yep, I placed a camera 30 ft inside some hardwoods behind one of our large green fields just to catch approaching deer since this particular field was very difficult to access by the landowner. All went well for a couple of years but I guess they decided to explore their property lines and found it. Rather than steal it or destroy it they nailed about 6 no trespassing signs up over and around it. I thought it was very courteous of them and I promptly removed them. I had them on camera, a grandpa, son and his young infant son being carried on his shoulders. I have nothing but the utmost respect for them in the way they handled that. That is "good neighbors".

first of all the stand belongs to a guy that had it stolen from him, we are returning it to him. 2nd of all, if someone does not have the right to be there and they leave something to be found by owners or someone who has it leased then I think they should lose it and could care less how they feel about it. now if I knew for a fact whose it was I might contact them and have some words then return it to them.

not yet, I don't know the guy, his name is on the stand. one of my buddies knows him and said it was stolen from him so brought it to work with me and my buddy is taking it to him.

I been told I could hunt a area before only to find out later I was miss informed.i know its not always the case but ya never know when some one isn't aware they are in the wrong. I always explain there's no hunting in a nice way first after that I feel all property left is fair game.

I have found 2 on me before, once I left at note if he wanted stand back to call, is was the
GWs cell phone , no one ever called

The 2nd one I took pictures of stand and you could see the painted property lines clearly
25 yds in front of the stand, called neighbor and he told me it was some of his workers,
they had shot a deer while hunting from the stand and was tracking it when I found the stand.

I told him if the guy wanted it back he could have it, just call the GW, said he didn't think
they wanted to do that, so I sold that O

I found a stand once a few years ago and left a note in a baggie and took the stand. I gave it to a buddy on the County Mountie team and told him where I found it and what I did. No one ever claimed the stand so I gave it to a friend to give his son. The next stand I found I took down and moved it across the line and left him a note. 4 days later I found it back on my side. It was a wooden stand So I got my chainsaw and cut it into pieces and left them on their side of the fence. Have not seen another stand in that area since. Some folks are harder to convince than others that you are serious.
