Found a nest

Bumped a hen that flew up from a blowdown, so I went to look. 14 eggs, sorry no pics because my phone is full. I did get a little video. Hope she comes back and hatches them out with no coons eating em

I bumped one out of a briar patch today and looked really hard to see if she was on a nest. Didn't see anything.

I found 6 eggs broken yesterday.

That's a bunch of eggs and I'd say she's out of the way for the season. Hopefully for you they all hatch and survive.

My wife swears she saw some poults cross in front of her just down the road last week. I gave her crap about it asking was she sure and she said she's absolutely positive they were turkey poults. I do see birds where she saw them but I'm still not convinced. She said they were a little smaller than a chicken.

Nothing surprises me anymore with the size of our flock statewide. Years ago I'd say it would be unlikely to see them that size this early, but anymore I don't rule anything out
