Lookin for squirrels with a coworker (there were none to be found) we were going into some thick woods off a field edge and I saw dried blood on a dead weed stalk.
Ended up being a big blood trail with splatters all on the ground, sticks and even a tree trunk.
A short distance later, 40+ buzzards and this:
On closer inspection, it appeared to have been cut and skinned, and I assume all the major cuts of meat were removed before the buzzards got it. It had no shoulders and the skin was cut around all the ankles.
Was fresh enough, I can only guess it had been killed on the last day of season. I also found a heavy deer trail running parallel to the field, that I will have to go back and see if I can find a way to hunt it next year.
Edit: the way they packed the meat out, it's possible it could have been killed after season closed, and they didn't want to get caught. Only a guess. Could have been a legal hunter taking after Poser as well.
