at least, I think that is what it is. By definition, a celt is a grooveless axe head. I found this back in April while looking for arrowheads in a field along the Nolichucky River while out turkey hunting. It is about 4" long and about 2 1/2" wide near the polished end. After looking on the internet, I'd call this a hard brown stone celt with polished edge, but I'm no expert. Notice the first picture where you can see just the little bit that was exposed before I pulled it from the earth and washed it off.
