Went to Mississippi with my brother to visit his inlaws. They live in the middle of nowhwere, with some hunting land nearby. So...me, my brother, and his wife (she just went along) went to shoot for a little bit.
I am embarrassed to admit this, but I definitely need practice with my .357 mag shooting. I can do ok at the range shooting a paper target,. But this time, I could NOT hit a can at 10-15 yds away! I was shooting a Ruger SP101 with UMC 125 gr jacketed soft pointed bullets. I need more range time, and probably need to go back to shooting .38s from it.
But i had NO problem hitting those cans with the shotgun (Mossberg 500 12 gauge). I shot birdshot, buckshot, and slugs. Even let my brother shoot it, as he has very little experience with shotguns. He was in awe of the buckshot and the slugs...and in awe of the kick on his shoulder, too. :D I think he wants a shotgun for Christmas now. :D
It was fun shoot again, as I haven't done it much in the past year or so. Definitely want to start shooting more often!
