Take a bunch of mushrooms and put them in a pan with some garlic and butter and cook them until they're soft. Add in some salt, pepper, and feta cheese. Put a layer of this mushroom mix on a piece of puff pastry, then put a venison steak on top of that, then add more of the mushroom mix on top of that. Fold it up, brush with an egg wash (egg yolk and water), then bake at 440 for about 12-15 minutes.

It's a ripoff of Beef Wellington. I just hate pate so I used mushrooms.

It was great with potatoes and a glass of blackberry wine.

Looks delicious, TJ!

I love puff pastry. Sometimes I take a simple kielbasa and wrap puff pastry around it, give it an egg wash and bake it. I love the crispy, crumbly pastry.

What did you do to those potatoes? Is that potato salad or some other preparation? They look yummy, too.

They're just cubed and boiled potatoes mixed with butter, sour cream, bacon, chives, and a little Montreal Steak Seasoning. You can do the same thing with canned potatoes but I had the time so I made the real thing.
