Foothills WMA -Gonna Give it go...

Well, I took a chance today and randomly hiked into Foothills WMA a little way and set a camera. It's a gamble on public land I know...I used a cheap one off Amazon, lol. Going to test out my old crappy knees in that evil mountain terrain. I noticed there is a new rule with no antlerless deer to be harvested. I assume that means deer numbers are down in there. The good part is I'll be in the woods near the house.

Any helpful hints? I did find a heavy acorn crop on the ground near where I set the camera. Maybe a bear will or turkey wonder through. Haven't taken a bear or turkey with a bow with a bow.

Well, checked the cam I put out. Had 5 different bucks, zero does and a coyote on the camera. best of the bunch in the pic below. Looks to be some good traffic on the trail I found.

I'd replace this pic with a 1 horn spike and claim it's the only deer you saw

I'd say let em have at it. Super rough terrain like South Cherokee. Any deer killed there will be a trophy!
