nothing yet,no rain on 10 day forecast, unless its changed very recently

Same here, have not planted yet. Tentatively thinking about labor day if rain is in the forecast if not waiting until the following weekend.

We plant in Sept....too early, too much weed competition and too hot. Sept suits Wayne county for the most part.

Hey guys, what seed rate did ya'll use for purple top?

To be completely honest, I got my seeds from Co-op in the little seed packs. I put 8 packs of purple top seed to 1/2 acre. I've never planted them before and the seed pack didn't have a rate guideline.

I planted everything Tuesday of last week, and as of yesterday everything was already 2 inches tall.

Have several this year.
1. 1/2 tecomate Monster Mix/ 1/2 Trophy radishes
2. 1/2 Trophy Radishes/ 1/2 Imperial CLover
3. Tecomate Max Attract
4. 1/2 imperial clover/ 1/2 chickory
5. Logging roads done in BFO or Rye grain.
6. Trying some Tall Tine Tubers just for kicks in another area.
Need some rain so I can finish getting them planted. Had all of these areas tested last year, limed in the spring. THe soil tests are essential or you are wasting your money and time. Will let you know which of these does best.

I never had much luck with the food plot mixtures like bio logic and others. I had my best luck with just clover from coop. I bought a large bag of purple tops to try this year to see if they like that. What about chufa? Anyone had any luck with chufa?
