Food Plots are looking good.

Here is a couple of my food plots. The first field has Buck Forage Oats, greens, Australian Winter Peas, and White Clover. The smaller second field is Buck Forage Oats and White Clover. They both were planted on Aug 27 and the pic was taken today Sept 19. Both fields were limed and fertilized prior to planting. I am going to stay out of there until Juvenile and let my son have first crack at them.

Looking real good, I hope mine comes up after finally getting rain today, It had been in the dry ground a week, but we had a good 1/2 rain tonight, and a light shower saturday morning, probably a tenth of a inch.

Where do you get the Australian winter peas, I'd like to try some in on of my plots.

Those are utilization cages. When the deer get to using real heavy you cage up a small area to see what the plot would look like without any pressure.

You can get them at your local Co-op. Most of them carry the winter peas and sell them by the pound.

I have tried to put this same thing up, but the deer always seem to push and force it over....even with 4 tent pegs!!! I just gave up

Thanks for the info Triple J, I'll try a couple of the utilization cages on a some of my plots, also thanks for the co-op info. I haven't been to the co-op in a while. We've been buying a lot of our farm and feed supplies from a small dealer, that my pop in law likes to use.
