shelby forest
I HAVE 10 1/2 ACRES OF LAND AND I WAS WANTING TO PLANT A LITTLE PCKET PLOT OUT THERE BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS IT IS ALL FORESTED. DO YOU KNOW OF ANY THING I CAN PLANT THAT DOESNT NEED A HALF A DAY OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT? THE PROPERTY STILL GETS SUNLIIGHT JUST NOT A FULL HALF A DAY OF CONSTANT SUN. I CAN CLEAR OUT SOME SMALL TREES WITH CANOPIES BUT ITS ALL BIG OAKS.

If you really wanted to spend a lot of time and work clear a small area and use something like no-plow or something along those liness during whatever season you wanted to hunt. With these types of seed you won't really need a soil test. Put minerals out in about 2-3 months. What you do really depends on the time you can put into the work and the money you are willing to spend.

Sub-clover is the most shade-tolerant food plot you can plant. It will also reseed well under heavy grazing which with a small plot you probably will have.
