Food Plots Food Plot Timing

I know a lot of people ask the same question, but has everyone already put in you Fall /winter plots. I got mine disced up but holding off til the 1st or 2nd week in September for my wheat and oats. I'm itching do do them now but don't want them to be to early.

Like a dummy I through out some winter wheat in a small woods plot last Tuesday. It's already about 6 inches tall. I'm going to wait till first week of Sept for the other plot

i'd wait till just before a significant rain event (forecast) following sept 1st....

Turnips and radishes in the ground now but wheat and clover won't go in till 2nd week of Sept.

I'm hoping to put out roundup Saturday in my main plot. I cut it last weekend. Will plant early Sept but not sure what I'll plant as I'm wanting to experiment some this year with something different.

I've got 5 acres ready. Waiting in some moisture then go into action. I've had better luck planting right after it during a rain

Here in east TN, 40% rain every day for 7 days, I think I will plant today

With all the rain in the forecast I went ahead and planted today. Daikon radish purple top turnips crimson clover and cow peas. It's started raining as soon as I was done but we still haven't gotten the downpour I need.

I planted 1.5 acres is crimson clover, winter wheat, oats, and a few purple top turnips on Friday. We got a good slow, steady rain on Monday with a lot more rain coming in the end of the week. Hopefully i timed it pretty good. This is my first ever true food plot attempt.
