Food Plot Question

I have recently gotten in on a lease in southern Marshall county. We are discussing what we need to plant for fall food plots and when is best time to plant. Anyone in this area have any recommendations? We are basically thinking just oat/wheat for the most part.

Wheat and oats are fine fall attractant plot. Might also plant a cheap annual clover, such as crimson. If you're able to turn the ground adequately, Dwarf Essex Rape and Austrian Winter Peas make good additions.

As for planting dates, any time you have good soil moisture starting from mid-August through early October.

Thanks. There is already some clover spots on the property that we can keep cut down when needed (spring). Thinking about trying to plant sometime early September (if weather cooperates). Hopefully the turkeys will not destroy them!

Might go a little heavier on the seeding rate! Don't ask me how I know!! lol

x-2....here in Wayne county where we hunt we find that the first two weeks of sept seem to be ideal....anytime insept will do here.
