A friend with a tractor helped me put in a food plot today. It is my first attempt at one and hopefully will get some good growth. 3 weeks ago he bushogged about 3 acres of a five acre field and then two weeks ago sprayed roundup where he bushogged. Today we tilled about 1.5 acres and I planted a mixture of rape, turnip, clover and winter peas. I also put down to big bags of fertilizer (16-16-16) and drug a harrow over everything to cover the seed. Now I just need a little rain and luck. I have been hunting this field for 5 years now and have killed some nice deer here. It is surrounded on 3 sides by thick woods and one side by open hardwoods with just a small overgrown path leading to the field. Anyway, here it is day one.
