Can someone give me a ballpark price on having someone else put in my food plots? I will have 2 plots one both close to 1 acre. I would need lime, fertilizer, and I would like a clover chicory mix in both.

Trying to determine if it is better to lease equipment, buy everything I need, or just let a professional handle it. I am in the Dickson/Vanleer area.

I had a fellow give me a price not to long ago and if my memory serves me correct he said $65 or $70 an acre for a clover plot and $85 an acre for a soybean plot. That included everything but lime that would be an extra material and labor cost. There was a possible fuel surcharge due to him being in west Tn. and I was getting a price for our lease in NW Hickman.

I know there's a lot of work that goes into them and to the best of my knowledge it will require multiple trips as well.

Of course I'm no expert so don't take none of this as gospel.

Clover and Chicory makes a good mix, but its tough to control weeds. The price can be high as well depending on what types of clover you want to use. Price can run from $40 to $60 an acre just for the seed

If you dont have the equipment on site , and you dont have any help. It is better to get somebody to do it for you. I have seen some of the work the guys that do it for a living do. It looks like a landscaping job the way the seed bed is prepared. I would just {M jmb4wd and get a price. I have meet him before and seems like a great guy. I would not buy alot of equipment just for this. If I wanted to be involved I would go out and help however is doing it. JMHO
