Fog and Deer Movement

Tomorrow will be a foggy morning for some folks. I killed a good buck last year on a field edge during a foggy morning.

What's everyone's experience with foggy, morning hunts?

I've always liked fog. Deer seem to move just fine but they don't see me so easily, nor me them. Already in range by the time I can make out what I'm looking at.

What's everyone's experience with foggy, morning hunts?

I have had some pretty decent luck on foggy mornings, but there have also been a few times that I never saw a good buck that was 150 yards away for the fog being too thick. Wouldn't have known those deer went through if not for a camera.

Killed one of my biggest bucks on a VERY foggy Thanksgiving morning morning about 10 years ago.

Ive learned a lot this year deer hunting . Killed my best deer on a warm windy morning. A day i would NEVER hunt usually. And my dad killed his beautiful 9 point yesterday, foggy drizzly morning that i would normally NEVER hunt . Point being , if you are in the mood to hunt , go hunt! They are out there

I consider fog a positive, but then I'm not hunting long-range shooting opportunities.

A negative for me, can't ever remember killing one or seeing many on foggy days. Hunted all day in it Friday & didn't see a deer. The two days prior I saw 6 bucks on one day & 5 on other (different locations both days) plus numerous does. Cams were sending me 30-40 pics those days as well. Friday & Saturday sightings dropped precipitously & pics went to a handful each day. Cleared up last night & camera went to blowing up with pics again and still is now. Know one guy killed a good buck chasing this morning & another text me right before I left for church at 8:15 that he'd already seen 3 bucks & bunch of does.
Yesterday morning when alarm went off at 4, I got up saw drizzle & fog and went back to bed. Saw just about as many as the 5 guys that hunted

On the place I hunt, deer movement is extremely diminished during foggy mornings. However, I have had some greats hunts once the fog starts burning off good.

I don't mind fog at all. Seems like the deer move pretty good in it. Hate it for turkeys though.

I mostly hunt at fields with most of our shots being 100 - 200 yards. I hate foggy days because typical visibility range is 50 yards…..
