Fluted Bolt/PIcs

Well I sent my favorite rifle's bolt off to be fluted. I got it back today and I am very happy with the results. The rifle is a Model 70 in .270 cal. I had the bolt fluted by KampFeld Customs. I had it fluted like a Remy TI. I have several other things in store for this rifle before it is finished. Already have Bell/Carlson stock in hand it is green with black web. Next week I am taking the rifle to have it Cerakote in entire black. I will probably have the bolt done it black also but the flutes will be done in green to match stock. Then I will top it with a 3x9x40 Zeiss Conquest Scope. I will post pics when it is totally done. This rifle is extremely accurate for what little work has been done to it.

He turned it around blazing fast. I sent it off last Thursday and got it back today. Cost differ but you can check his work out at www.kampfeldcustom.com . I talked to Karl he is a very nice guy.

Nice, I wouldnt mind doing that to my push feed model 70.

Karl does incredible work. He built me a .223AI on a Borden action and it is a hummer. Can't find a nicer guy.

Sent him my bolt for the rifle I'm in the process of building. Should get it back toward the end of this week. He is doing the Remington Ti style fluting on mine.

Don't get your finger caught in the fluting when cycling the bolt

I've heard a million pros/cons for and against fluting a bolt. Bottom line, it DOES look cool, and I don't thing it helps nor harms a thing.

Yeah a finger in the bolt flutes wouldn't be good. Esp. if they had sharp edges. I had Kampfeld coat my bottom metal in Cerakote so I figured I'd let him flute my bolt while I was paying shipping. The cool factor is worth what he charges to flute the bolt.
