Let's be honest for once: Florida could hire Jackson County Community College's volleyball coach to run the offense and you'd say it was a "solid hire". I never used the term for Debord since he was over figure skating at Mich. CJM has so far been a solid hire that pulled a good recruiting class together. Did I mention that he put a solid coaching staff together.

Rumph is a strong recruiter and proven coach. Pairing him up with Randy Shannon will make recruiting fun next year. Wrangler might have to find another topic.. :tu:

Thanks for making my point. Tennessee hired Debord so he automatically sucks. Had florida hired him he would be the second coming of Jesus in your opinion. You are almost as objective as the White House press secretary.

From all reports it looks like he, Williams, was asked to move on. It appears that he wasn't up for the grind of recruiting after leaving the NFL. Jefferson and Cowart didn't give him great reviews and I'm sure CJM took note. Everything I read. looks like Rumph is a good coach and great recruiter. Also looks like Jefferson will send in his letter in tomorrow and likes the new DL coach.

Try again... :rotf: What was Debord offense last year?? The triple axle spin.... :smash: :smash: Also keep in mind that last couple years don't come in play since he was only at Texas one season. He was at Bama prior to that and I'm sure Bama had a good "D"... :tu:

Hmmmm....while at Bama in the SEC was ranked 5th in total D and 7th in rushing D. Year before that #1 in nation, and in 2011 another top ranked in the nation allowing the fewest yards per game since 1996.....in the SEC :tu:

what???.... Where did I say Debord was a bad hire? As a matter of fact on the other thread I said I didn't know much about the guy. Even said UT might have found a golden turd for all I know. Shoot I've seen A LOT of Vol fans mad about the hire and talk badly of it. Can't figure out why some people got to exaggerate things and try to put words in somebody's mouth, smh.

I thought it was a bad decision to fire Phil Fulmer and not keep Kippy Brown as HC when Kiffin bailed. I also posted on here several times before he left that Kiffin was a clown and would bail first chance he got. Dooley spoke for himself. Now we are to CBJ, he's to the point that he needs to win games because slogans will not save him from this point on. Hiring Debord at this point is like when Muschamp hired Roper last season. This hirer will either make or break CBJ.

I will throw it back on you, since Fulmer, who has TN hired that has proven to be solid hire and really won big games??? Let's not consider CBJ yet since he's 12-13, only beat SC, Vandy, Ky, and recruiting doesn't win games or SEC titles because Muschamp and Ron Zook proved that. FL just fired a coach with a better record this past season than CBJ.... :tu:

That's soooo far away from comparing apples to apples. Muschamp was handed a team full of talented proven players and then proceeded to fall flat on his face because his teams had 0 discipline and couldn't score on anything that resembled a decent defense. CBJ was handed the keys to a dumpster fire and a roster that couldn't have competed in legitimate conference in the country. I fully understand that he has to win some bigger games this year but up to this point he has done nothing but exceed expectations.

I said ever..... not in the past ten years.....but I do agree butch is not proven yet but like said above he came into a mess and has did a fantastic job straightening it out so far. (This year is the year though, no excuses.) The situation he came into cannot be compared to muschump, different in so many ways.
