Float and fly

I quit fishing (small) tournaments because of a guy that would bring in twenty lbs of smallmouth a night on priest!!!
I thought he was cheating. Come to find out, he was a float and fly guy off the edges of bluffs. He was winning every night out of every ramp.
Never fished it myself, don't know if I have the patience.

I've fished it... it produces big a$$ smallmouth on Dale Hollow. Don't expect fast action, you're fishing for quality versus quantity.

I've also caught good spots on Parksville Lake and Carters Lake (in North Ga.) with it.

I've never used the float and fly on a lake because I'm strictly a river rat. Me and a friend of mine have caught the heck out of smallmouth and spots on the French Broad this time of year. The windier the better in my opinion. The waves give the fly action. It usually doesn't take much patience.
