Float and Fly on Old Hickory?

I haven't fished Old Hickory much in the last few years (which is ironic, since I live on Drake's Creek), but I used to catch some big smallmouth in the stretch from Bluegrass Marina on down to the dam.

Does anybody fish that section with float & fly in the winter, or is Old Hickory just too murky for it to work? I know it's usually used on clear lakes.

I really need to learn how to fish this method one of these days. Maybe this will be the year.

Hmm - sounds like if anyone is flinging the f&f on Old Hickory, they're quiet about it. Oh well, it was worth a try.
