I'm sure you fellas have caught some big ones over the years, I caught one yesterday on Watts Bar close to 30 lbs dragging a worm around. They pull a little harder than an ol bass.
 
I agree - big cats were blowing up on shad everywhere yesterday

ditto that, I haven't caught a flathead over 5 lbs, would be more excited over a 30 lb flathead than a 5 or 10 lb large mouthed fish of the lowly sunfish family :D
 
Caught one yesterday that would have gone 8-10 lbs on a jig while bass fishing. I usually catch a few a year while bass fishing, a few blues too. I don't really see what all the fuss is about, I would rather catch a 3+ lb smallmouth any day.

I was fishing with a buddy of mine and caught about a 5 inch blue gill on a strike king deep dive crank bait, next cast, caught a 8 pound flat head. Switched to a jig, caught a drum. Switched to a zara spook and hooked about a foot long spotted bass. No large mouth that day, but it made for a interesting time at least lol

I agree!
 
get a 50+ pound flathead and as far as the fight goes there isn't anything that compares in freshwater. Alot of fighting power, its the only rush that fishing gives me that compares to shooting a deer
 
Also one of the reasons you get alot of bass fisherman catching flatheads while bass fishing is because alot of time what looks like a good bass area will be a spot where flatties like to spawn. If one of those bass lures comes any where near a bed while the flattie is spawning they will usually smash it. The males fertilize the eggs, run the females off, and then they stand gaurd on the eggs and protect them.
