Caught 10 flathead, 3 channel and one gar on noodles Saturday night. This was the biggest.

Dang congrats! Are those big flatheads still good to eat? I've eaten bigger blues and didn't care for it.

I think flatheads are good to eat no matter what size. They lay around alot and eat live fish. I have, in the past, eat them up to 35lbs. Me and most of my friends and family turn loose most flatheads over 10lbs. Smaller than 10 are easier to clean and we catch plenty under 10. We release bigger fish trying to catch a really large fish. I would like to think I have caught this fish at least once before! lol. A 25lb fish will never get bigger if filleted!!

Good deal. What were you baiting with? Flatheads eat great. Side by side cooked with channel cats and you can tell the difference.
