FL public park pond (pictures)

Caught this one the other day on a pond bout 5 mins from my house in Brandon FL. I also caught a few small ones as well and had a bigger one break my line. Not bad for two hours of fishing before dark... It's hit or miss this time of year with the rain. I started to go out yesterday then heard some thunder and decided against it. I love this pond though because no one fishes it other than from the bank and I can catch em all day from the kayak.
I might try one of those top water moss frogs next time.

Too weedy but a bass colored Pop-R would be killer at dusk on those kind of ponds.

FL has some fine bass... I was there back when I was 12 and caught one close to 5lb in a pond behind a neighborhood. 1st cast with a yellow wacky worm did the trick. Haven't been down there since then.

Thanks for the comments! I did try a spinner bait but couldn't keep the grass/weeds off of it so I've been using mainly plastic worms. I'd like to try some live shiners in there.
