I don't fish Tim's often but Stripers and Hybrids both will smash a topwater if you're there at the right time. Last year I had a 30+" one hit a topwater, that sure was fun in a kayak! Pearl fluke and a 1/4oz jighead is my go-to combo for them. If I want to try topwater, I like to throw a KVD Sexy Dawg. Pencil Poppers work well for them too, although I haven't hooked one yet on that thing.
And as tasty as they are, just a little FYI - the smaller ones taste better. I've eaten them over 30" and still would. They're pretty good but I was constantly told to release those and keep 20-24" fish. I listened earlier this Summer and they were correct, much better tasting fish.
