fishing the buffalo

hey ya'll suppose to go on a canoe trip to the buffalo here in week or two and was wondering if anybody had any tips how to catch some fish down there. I have never fished it before and would like to know what some more seasoned anglers have in there tackle box. Really don't know what I'm targeting just wanting to hook into some fish. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've seen several smallmouth caught while canoeing on a small crawfish crankbait. There is actually some good fishing on the Buffalo. Good luck!
