Just a question. Why do fishermen "practice" for a tournament but hunters "scout" for a hunt. Isn't it the same thing?

I think it comes down to the act itself. When you practice fishing you are still catching fish. You are actually doing it whether or not you actually get them in the boat you are still doing the thing. When you're scouting you shoot at a deer and call it scouting. :)
prolly because they consider fishing tourneys a sport, which you would practice in sports.
