This past weekend, I signed up to get some fishing lessons from a fellow TNdeer member. We headed to a local tailwater to throw jerk baits. I'm typically a fly fisherman, so this is all sort of new to me. The first lesson is that when you're told that if you want to spend $20 on a fishing lure and you're recomended to buy a single $20 lure, you buy it, and not 4 similar ones that add up to $20.

Well, here's some pictures. As you can see, I'm in none of them, but I did catch some fish.

I had a blast fishing with you Buzz. I told you I would most likely catch 10 fish with those lures to every 1 fish you caught with the other lures. IMO, they are worth the extra money. When you changed over, they couldn't resist that lure.

The interesting thing about that day was I caught more Brook Trout than Browns and Rainbows combined.

We gotta go back again and I'll show you some other good spots.

It was tons of fun. As for getting outfished 10 to 1, Model70Man's signature should read "I have a tendency to exaggerate". I've never in my life been outfished 10 to 1. That figure was probably much lower. Maybe something closer to 9 to 1.

We'll definately have to do that again.

I have had that lesson. I threw everything in my tackle box. I am a die hard inline spinner user. I caught nothing. Model70man did let me net his catch for him and take pics. I will have a couple of those lure when I go back. I may old but this old dog learned a new trick.
