I just picked up two fishing kayaks off of Craigslist. Got a sweet deal on two gently used boats, for the price of one new one. They are 10.5 ft. long, with rod holders, plenty of storage, and paddles and jackets were included. They only weigh 50 lbs., so I can handle them easily and can haul them both in my pickup truck.
Last summer some buddies floated the river and all had kayaks but me, so I had to watch the fun from the bank. Now I can hardly wait till the weather warms up. Don't think I'm ready to get out there yet in these cold temps!
 
Congrats dude! That is my kind of fishing. I can't do the kayaks cause I am not comfortable sitting in that position but I love my canoes in those creeks and little places the bass boats and jet ski's can't go! We paddled three miles up a small creek last year and never saw a soul, felt like we were in the Amazon somewhere... :)
 
i have a old town otter sport i fish from it all the time. this summe we fishes the little river in townsend and walland we had a blast catchin trout, smallmouth, and trophy red eyes(a pound) we even fished though the mass amount of tubers the fish didnt seem to mind . but the tubes did i had a small mouth jump right on a tubers lap and got a roster tail stuck in a tube.
 
I took my kayak on the Caney last February and caught half a dozen nice brookies from it.

They have their place, that's for sure. Tough paddling upstream against generation, though. Work great when you have a vehicle spotted downstream.
 
I got one for Christmas two years ago and I love it. Mine has a mount for a trolling motor and I've thought about mounting one. But as of right now I like rowing because i feel more stealthy.
