We were sitting in the blind Sunday morning and I was talking to a buddy of mine that, from what I hear, cooks a mean trout.

I asked him if I caught, cleaned and brought them, would he cook them.

He said sure.

I went trout fishing after church and wanted to catch a limit but I only managed to get 3.
Dropped one and it bounced back in the water and 3 came off before I could get them in.

Anyway, all the way home I kept thinking how good some grilled trout and fried taters, peppers and onions (thanks woodyard !!) were gonna be in the duck blind.........
I can't / couldn't wait !!!! :super:

LOL I thought about hollering at you woodyard.

My wife probably wouldn't care but I am pretty sure my son would torture me. :D

I have deer hunted my rear off this fall with nothing (beside a great fall of hunting with best friends) to show for it. I am officially in the fishing mode. I tied my first flies yesterday since early Oct.

I'm not much for having to clean ice out of guides, but for a reasonable weather weekend, it probably wouldn't take any arm twisting.....
 
Hmm! I will keep an eye on the weather in January. I am about booked up with stuff in January, but that doesn't mean that I won't cancel something to go fishing in Arkansas.

Gonna take a while getting 1 or 2 at a time but we getting there.
 
Reminds me that I have to get some more wooly buggers tied up and got to get a new grill or fabricate a new bottom for that little pal grill. Nothing like them trouts on a charcoal grill on the river.
 
Now if you could CATCH those trout WHILE duck hunting... THAT would be awesome! I did once take my shotgun and cane pole to Cotaco Crick. Caught 7 crappie and killed 4 squirrels....
