Fish traps

I built the round trap last summer and decided I would make a few square ones. Just wondered if anyone here uses them and if you ever catch other fish besides catfish.

Used both round and square ones years ago.Aside from catfish, only caught the occasional carp but it was rare.I'm guessing because of the bait used.

??? Why can you use a round wooden trap but not a chicken wire trap? Or is it the size of the throat that makes it legal/illegal? That's the only kind I grew up around.

Yea,it was a homemade recipe that me and my uncle would make.

If done right you can catch more fish than you'll want to clean.

I never know about these pm's on the new software so I thought I would tell you I sent you another one.
Don't guess I need a basket now.
Found out it wouldn't be legal in the TWRA lakes and that is where I would have used it.
